I have been involved in the fitness industry for over 30 years. I have taught many types of classes including Dancefit (aerobic dance), Heartfit (aerobic dance), LE Body Moves (my own business teaching aerobic dance). I was a Supervisor at a Fitness Center for the last 6 1/2 years, where I was a Personal Trainer and a Sports Nutritionist. I also taught Aquafit classes in the pool 2 -3 times per week to mature adults. (my personal training and sports nutrition license has since lapsed). I happened onto Zumba quite by chance and fell in love with the program. I have decided to make Zumba my retirement activity. I am 59 years young and have tons of energy. I am very good with people and have no problem instructing and working with large groups.
I am currrently a part-time student at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, majoring in Health Science. Taking these university courses have also afforded me the opportunity to increase my knowledge in the areas of phys. ed, kinesiology, advanced nutrition, anatomy, body physiology, and biomechanics.
I also like to power walk, as walking is one of the best and least expensive activities for anyone looking to do something easy to keep fit.
I feel that I am very well rounded in the fitnnes area, and would be an asset to any of your programs which pertain to my experience.
