Why do I do what I do? Let me count the ways ...
My mother has been a fitness instructor since the days of Jazzercise and Jane Fonda's Workout. As a child I would often go to Mom's classes and follow from the back of the room. Fitness was a given in our household - gymnastics, dance, sports, swimming, cycling, hiking, skiing ... it was never something I felt forced to do.
When I was a teenager Mom bought me a Step video for Christmas. I started teaching Step to my roommate in university in our tiny dorm room - each of us off one end of it, hilarious now to look back. I remember using a 2 Unlimited CD because my mom's music was lame! ("y'all ready for this...")
In the late-90's I signed up for my first 12-week yoga session. When the teacher asked each person why they sought out yoga, most were looking to cure various aches and pains, increase flexibility, etc. I was looking for inner peace and I heard yoga could help. (for the record it did and I was hooked)
As an instructor I strive to infect everyone I meet with self-esteem, self-respect, and self-confidence. I am thankful for all the life experiences that have led me to this calling, and I am blessed to inspire others in any way I can to feel/be/do their absolute best.
