Dixie Chamness

With over 25 years of experience teaching yoga and 14 years leading group fitness classes, Dixie brings a playful, curious, and deeply knowledgeable approach to movement. She is a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher, a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist, an AFFA Group Fitness Instructor, and a Les Mills Body Pump Instructor — blending a wide range of expertise into every class she leads.

Her yoga journey began in 1999 attending her first Yoga Teacher Training through the Temple of Kriya Yoga in Chicago. In 2016 she completed her 200-hour teacher training at Meta Yoga Studios in Breckenridge, Colorado, followed by a 100-hour program through Karuna Yoga School in Nicaragua. She later completed her 300-hour plus certification with The Mazé Method under Noah Mazé in Los Angeles, California. Over the years, her passion for yoga, functional movement, and mobility education has only deepened, making her classes as informative as they are empowering.

Dixie currently teaches yoga, Body Pump, and functional mobility at the Breckenridge Recreation Center— always with a focus on helping students build a more intuitive relationship with their bodies. Her style is both thoughtful and energizing, encouraging self-awareness, adaptability, and a sense of playful exploration. She believes that movement should support your life, not complicate it — and that strength and grace are built through curiosity, not perfection.

Outside the studio, you’ll likely find her adventuring in the Colorado mountains — hiking forest trails, biking, cross-country skiing, traveling, or lifting heavy things just because it feels good.
