- Wendy Woods
Wendy Woods Wendy graduated from Bikram Yoga’s College of India in Spring of 2003. I started practicing Bikram yoga in San Francisco in the fall of 2000. I was living in San Francisco in the height of the dot com craze. Needless to say, life was very hectic, I was very stressed and had a job that demanded a lot of travel from me. My body started to show the signs of the fast paced lifestyle I was living. I had gone to a doctor to seek treatment for the various “ailments” I was feeling. He suggested I start taking vitamins, as the older you get, the more “help” your body needs. I was thinking at the time, “I am only 32 years old, what happens when I turn 42? 52?” I wasn’t ready to accept that my body was “breaking down.”
A friend recommended I try Bikram yoga. I must admit, I was not hooked during my first class. But the benefits my body was feeling from the practice were truly amazing. Not only did I not, nor do I still today, take vitamins, but I have more energy and vitality than ever before. I attribute yoga to helping me in other areas of my life as well, especially biking.

I grew to love the yoga so much, that 2 ½ years later I decided I wanted to share my experience with others. I decided to become a teacher of the yoga that I love still so much today! My goal is to help students realize ALL of the benefits of yoga, not just the outward physical appearance. After 11 years, I am still trying to wrap my left leg in eagle, but I still enjoy the practice and have given up the feeling of frustration I used to have. This too, has been a tremendous benefit in other areas of my life.
When I am not doing yoga, you can find me on my bike or walking “the prettiest dog in the whole wide world,” Lexi.
