David Smyth

Dave is the U.K. Director of The World yoga federation of India, with a 500-hour school.

Dave is also currently the holder of the Guinness World Record for the 'Biggest All Male Yoga Class 'ever held.

Dave is well known for his work with world class athletes, including 5-time motorcycle world champion David Knight and TT star Conor Cummins and Irish National Road racing Champion Dan Kneen, along with World sidecar rider Harry Payne and National Sidecar Champions Craig Melvin and Stuart Christian. He has also worked with west Cheshire division two rugby Team RamseyRFC, taking them to the cup final, whilst also working with horse riders, cyclists and football players, amongst many others.

Dave started his yoga journey in 2006. After suffering severe injuries as a motorcycle racer (including a broken back, twice!), Dave started studying with: Sammy Walker - Synchronicity Yoga; Ed Clark - Trip score Yoga; Scott Johnson - Ashtanga and Dashama Gordon - Pranashama. Dave also practices Thai Yoga Massage and Chi Massage.

Dave has an eclectic mix of skills and talents that have seen him, as a musician, have a Top Ten hits in the UK Download Chart with his band, Sawbones. He has raced motorcycles at British Championship level, and has full qualifications in engineering, which led him to work in the movie industry.

As head of the Pranashama World Affiliate Programme Dave enjoyed helping new teachers achieve their goals and help them realize their full potential. Dave also attended Pranashama retreats in Bali and Mexico, Costa Rica and Hawaii. And now hosts retreats for other teachers, as well as teaching his own workshops and retreats from his beautiful studio in the Isle of Man.
