Gordon Hauka

My name is Gordon Hauka. I would like to offer you and your clients my passion and love of Tennis and my abilities in Teaching people to “Play”.

For 30 years I have taught Tennis in the city of Vancouver Canada. I have had the joy of bringing the love of the game for life to over 50,000 players in: Spring: Summer: Fall and even outdoors in Winter.

When I left my position as a mediator in 1992 I had already been teaching Spring and Summer Tennis programs at the False Creek Community Centre since 1983. The opportunity to develop my passion for the game and my love of teaching play to others was the main motivation to take the plunge and start the business. 20 years on I still enjoy teaching 30 hours a week as well as managing the many programs and instructors.

I have been fortunate to develop a very successful small business that financially contributes to the cost of education for 6-10 High School and University Students yearly while remaining affordable for all who wish to learn to “play”. My business is now self-sustaining and managed by one of my daughters, freeing me up realize a long held dream to teach in warm places.

I have a background in counselling and mediation that allows me successful interaction with groups or individuals all ages. I have counselled children from preschool to teens, families from diverse ethnic backgrounds and mediated in the areas of labour, family and divorce settlements. I have two daughters; the eldest is teaching English in Japan while the younger is teaching Tennis in Vancouver. I am married for many years to my wife Shelley who is a Rehabilitation Assistant in the acquired Brain Injury centre for Vancouver Costal Health.

I can offer your company enthusiasm, boundless energy and the commitment to give your clients a great experience that adds to the holiday they take in your resorts, contributing to the “I want to come back again” that builds successful businesses.
