Growing up in the Philippine islands, Jacky spent majority of her time outdoors. Her young sports career began with gymnastics and she continued to compete in high school swimming and tennis with her move to the U.S. Several sports-related injuries later and with college in sight, she took a hiatus from competitive sports and accepted a full academic scholarship. She holds a B.S. in Computer Science and graduated with high honors, magna cum laude. Jacky spent many years in Silicon Valley as a programmer and engineer and later moved on to software sales. In 2010, Jacky discovered Pilates after suffering a significant ACL tear from a skiing accident. A second doctor's opinion offered the possibility of rehabilitation (without surgery) which included Pilates. Intrigued by this new discipline, she pursued the esteemed BASI Comprehensive Teacher Training Course and immersed herself fully (mind, body, and spirit!) over the next several months. A milestone-year: she completed the course, was awarded her certification, and (to the amazement of her knee surgeon!) has experienced a full recovery. Jacky is eager to teach and preach the powers of Pilates, experiencing first-hand its healing powers. An active wife and mother of two teenage boys, she incorporates Pilates into her daily routine to keep her happy, healthy, and sane! Jacky teaches out of her home studio in Los Gatos, CA as well as at Pleasure Point Pilates in Santa Cruz, CA
