I am a life long athlete, a love that began in community sports and continued through High School. This allowed me to compete in NCAA Division I athletics at East Carolina University where I ran track. My degree in OT enabled me to work in settings with both able bodied clients and those with physical disabilities, helping to restore as much function as possible and thus allowing them to return to their previous life activities with as high a level of independence as possible.
With the birth of my 2 children, I primarily became a stay at home mom, supporting them in all of their school activities and coaching in community sports. During this time, I maintained my OT license and practiced per deim at local hospitals and I began practicing yoga and participating in group fitness at local gyms. I also got involved in USTA tennis playing in a local league, which I have continued for the past 10 years.
Once my children went to high school, I knew it was time to continue my passion for fitness and helping others by taking my exercise to the next level and becoming certified in yoga and group fitness. I thoroughly enjoy teaching fitness classes and helping others meet their fitness goals, educating them about their bodies and health. It is also a joy to meet people from all ages and backgrounds who have come together for a common goal of becoming more healthy. I believe I would have this same level of enjoyment by expanding that participant base into resorts where I may find employment.
