Anna Lombardi

 

Pilates

She earned her Pilates Mat certification from Julie Sorrentino who had received her training from Carole Trier, one of Joseph’s protégés. Anna continued her training at Pilates Academy International where she received the All Population Reformer and Cadillac certifications.

Drawing on her extensive dance, Pilates and yoga background, Anna’s classes are geared to maximize the body's potential safely and effectively. Special attention is paid to anatomical alignment, movement initiation, breathing, and flow. 

She infuses Pilates’ classical exercises with its new developments in exercise technique and science, free weights, stretching, and props. This is done in efforts to cater to all body types and abilities. This infusion also creates a challenging, fun, and innovative approach to Pilates training.

She is a caring and empathetic teacher with a keen eye for analyzing human movement.

 

Yoga

Anna has been practicing yoga for 10 years.She has studied with several teachers in different styles of yoga including Vinyasa flow, Ashtanga Mysore, Hatha, and Restorative Yoga.

She completed her 200-hour yoga teacher certification with John Tamayo. Since then she has been pursuing a deeper knowledge of all yoga disciplines, and sharing it with others through her teaching.

Anna’s class encourages fluidity of movement, and a strong and stable core. These goals are achieved through an invigorating workout, conscious awareness, and skillful alignment. She guides her students through a dynamic series of standing postures to build up heat, endurance, flexibility, and strength; followed by hip openers, backbends, forward bends, and inversions. This sequence safely and effectively opens and strengthens the body.

Classes include challenging variations for more advanced students, as well as accommodation for newcomers.
