I am a Fitness Professional in Houston, TX. I hold a Bachelors of Science is in Kinesiology- Exercise Science from the University of Houston. I began my career at LA Fitness as a front desk attendant and worked hard to earn the Assistant Operations Manager position. I worked with LA Fitness for a cumulative 2 years (taking some time off to focus on school). My role at LA Fitness was focused on providing a great member experience, training front desk staff, handling member concerns and financials. Corporate Fitness became my passion as I began at MediFit at a high volume fitness facility. Our membership base was over 8,000 members. My responsibilities as Program Manager (for 2 1/2 years) included supervising 6 full time staff members, 30 group exercise instructors, managing a group exercise schedule with over 120 classes per week, budgeting, and providing personal training. I then went on to be the Program Manager at Club One's Chevron Fitness Center. I managed a full-time staff of 8 team members, driving revenue and balancing budget, and handled all facility and member concerns. Currently, I am a Wellness Coordinator for ConocoPhillips. My responsibities include presenting health topics to departments, creating wellness incentive programming, managing the group exercise schedule, communications, exercise testing, and managing the personal trainers and massage therapists.
In addition to my degree in Kinesiology-Exercise Science, and also hold a Health Fitness Specialist/ Certified Exercise Physiologist certification through American College of Sports Medicine. I am an AFAA certified Group Exercise instructor, IFTA Group Exercise and Cycling, Les Mills Body Pump and CXWORX certified.
I love fitness and have made it my career because it is something I practice in my personal life as well. I enjoy outdoor biking, kayaking, and intramurals on my free time.
