I first began group fitness through a les mills program called bodypump over 3years ago and have been teaching that consistently 2-4 times per week. I had always been interested in yoga and taken many different group fitness classes revolving around yoga and yoga type classes. It wasn't until last year when I began taking classes to learn about yoga and how to teach yoga. I went through a short tutorial online through AFAA and completed that and then signed up and took a weekend long yogafit training through yogafit in my hometown, Stevens point, wi. Since that weekend, I began teaching yoga at Adventure 212 once per week. I have taught and worked with members from gentle based yoga to a more vigorous vinyasa based classes offering modifications for the members. The June 2013 in am planning to further my knowledge and skills by taking the yogafit level 2 training that will be hosted by my employer. In addition to these fitness certifications, I also hold an AFAA group exercise instructor certification which is valid through 2/25/14.
