Holly Vogtmann

During my senior year of college, 2001, I took my first yoga class and fell in love. After the semester ended I started taking yoga where ever I could. I knew I wanted to teach yoga, but I knew I had so much to learn. After taking yoga for several years I was asked by my yoga teacher to become certified, so I did. I started by studying with her and then went through NETA (2005), to get my first certification.

I have come a long way since my first yoga certification. I believe it is important to keep learning and growing as not only a student, but also as a teacher. I went on to become certified as a Yoga Ed instructor to teach yoga to children in my physical education K-5 classroom. I wanted to expand my knowledge with yoga still and did a 200 RYT Sanga Vinyasa training through Yoga Shelter. I completed this in 2010. In 2011, I still wanted more, so I went through the Yoga Medics 200 RYT training. All of these trainings have allowed me to work with children and adults with a great foundation of the philosophy of yoga, as well as a safe physical practice no matter what the capabilities are of the individual.

I know I will not stop here. I am currently on a yoga curriculum to be taught as an RYT teacher training program at Eastern Michigan University. I am always looking for ways of improving my knowledge and sharing it with others. This is why I not only teach yoga, but I take classes at least twice a week, even when on vacation. You can never learn too much.

Through the years of yoga training, I have also become certified as a group fitness instructor. I currently teach spinning, conditioning, weight training, pole dancing, and cross training, as well as yoga. I am always ready to learn something new.
