Before I had children, I taught both kindergarten and second grade in the public school system.  After they were born, I knew I wanted to stay home with them and be as available as possible for their upbringing.  After my son was born, I joined a fitness class for new moms and thought it was something that I could do as well.  I went ahead a bought a franchise of strollerfit in San Antonio and taught classes to new moms with stroller age children.  With a move to Connecticut, I had to sell the business but was able to continue teaching in Connecticut through the local parks and rec department.  Since then, I have had a loyal following of both my day and evening classes.  Each 60 minute class is designed to address all areas of the body with body weight and resistance training.  Each class is a little bit different, but the basic formula is upper body strength, lower body strength, and then cardio.  Followed by core strength and stretching.  I keep classes upbeat and fun, making sure that all levels are addressed by providing several options for each exercise.  I love what I do because I get paid to workout.  Plus I can work around my kids' schedules to make sure that I am available to them.  If I can throw in a Caribbean vacation in the mix, that would be perfect!
