I hold a BS degree in Communications from James Madison University, in Harrisonburg, Virginia. After travelling around the world for two years, I returned to study photography at Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California. After a long and successful career as a photographer, I once again decided to follow my passion and enter the fitness world.
I am a NASM Certified Personal trainer and have spent the last three years working one-on-one with clients, as well as with small duet groups. My clients have ranged from young adults in their 20's, to seniors with special needs in their 80's. I am also a Certified Water Fitness Instructor, through USWFA. For two years I have taught group water aerobics classes, as well as semi-private classes. I have also taught water classes for those with arthritis. Through USA Triathlon, I am a Certified Triathlon Coach, and have enjoyed coaching beginner triathletes.
In my personal life, I practice what I preach, and am extremely active! I enjoy workouts with weights, spin class, masters swimming, surfing, stand-up paddleboarding, cycling, skiing, and basketball. And when I'm not being "sporty," you can find me at home practicing my musical instruments (guitar, flute, fiddle), and hanging out with my dogs!
