I began my fitness journey after graduating from college, and since that time have completed many fitness challenges that have given me confidence and strength in other areas in my life, such as raising two healthy children, and balancing a career and family life. When I started exercising seriously 15 years ago, I approached the gym and my workouts with dread, and focused on weight loss only. This attitude has changed, and now I approach my workouts with the goal being over all health and wellness, and the benefits are wearing skinny jeans at age 43.
A few years ago, I finally took a look at my diet, and made some life changes in what I eat, recognizing that exercise alone would not work when approaching 40. With age comes wisdom, so at the time I was wise enough to read as much as possible about women, (in particular) health, nutrition, and getting older. This new approach to eating, where I look at whole foods, over all vitamin and nutrient content, and staying away from processed goods, has impacted my performance during my workouts, and my recovery afterward. I feel stronger, mentally and physically, and now know this journey has been a role model for my children in perseverance, determination, and at times, even courage. There are moments, days, when life gets in the way of eating right or even a workout….the holidays!.....but I know now that it is only a moment, and with the next moment there will be an opportunity for an extra walk, a piece of fruit, a glass of water, and the quality of life that I dreamed about 15 years ago. I look forward to helping your clients maintain their exercise routine while on vacation, either with personal training and or group fitness instruction.
