I've been active in the fitness industry for over 15 years and am now considered one of the leading authorities in fitness for older adults. My experience includes 1-1 and small group personal training, group exercise instruction, specialty classes, bootcamp, management and ownership. Since I specialize in older adults my clients have tended to be 50+ years of age but I have worked with younger populations as well. My presentation experience includes IDEA World Summit, IDEA PT Institute, ACE, ACSM Annual Meeting, International Coalition for Active Aging, Athletic Business, Can-Fit-Pro, Club Industry, American Fitness Professionals and Associates and many more both domestic and international. I have written articles for many of these organizations as well.
I prefer to teach small group conditioning classes that focus on whole-body function with an emphasis on core stability. The classes are moderately-paced yet challenging for individuals of all fitness levels and fun. I am flexible with regards to the equipment or environment I have to work with and can be creative to make an enjoyable experience for participants. Balance and mobility enhancement is a speciality of mine that works very well with the older population but can be fun and interesting for younger participants as well.
Although I have a PhD and am a professor...don't hold that against me. I was born and bred in fitness and have strong leadership skills. Instructing fitness has come rather naturally to me and I have honed my skills over the years with many diverse experiences.
