Judy Manherz

Yoga has transformed Judy’s life in many aspects. As a former police officer, she recognizes the importance of creating balance and harmony amongst the many challenges and opportunities that life presents.  The intent of her classes is to help others to feel more alive, radiant and revived, from head to toe and from inside-out. She encourages students to approach yoga with an open mind, an open heart, patience, and a sense of humour.  She strives to motivate and influence students to find their strength and calm within.

Judy began practicing yoga in 2002 and became a RYT with the Yoga Alliance in 2009.  She obtained her certification through Mountaingoat Yoga Centre in Ottawa.  She continues to attend yoga conferences and workshops to enhance her teaching and practice. She has attended training with Hart Lazer, Seane Corn, Bryan Kest, Martin Kirk, Jason Crandall, Cindi Lee, Rodney Yee, Eion Fin, Sadie Nardini, Leslie Kaminoff, Jill Miller and many other amazing teachers.  Judy holds a B.Sc. in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo and has been involved in teaching fitness since the early 1980s.  She is currently a professor at Algonquin College in the Police Foundations Program. She is also an artist.  She teaches yoga at Mountaingoat Yoga Centre and Inner Soul Yoga and Cycle.  She also runs yoga clinics for Synergy Run Club and periodically gives workshops at Algonquin College.  Judy is a full-time professor at Algonquin College.
