My beginnings started like most enthusiasts, in high school. I was a competitive wrestler and football player for all 4 years of high school. With my strength and conditioning program implemented by a great staff of coaches our team, even not the biggest had the fundamentals from the weight room translate onto the field. With a great background in professional quality programs though high school I decided to bring that to another level and go to Old Dominion University to study exercise science and then become a personal trainer/strength coach. During school I worked at the schools enormous facilities and was higher to manager soon after. During that time a lot of gym time just on the floor observing new routines and styles of doing things along with my own twist on a functional sport background from high school. With my steadfast studying habits and attentiveness in class my professor Carmine Grieko had some fitness professionals (Jim White) come to talk to our classes. Soon after I had completed both of my certifications ACSM Cert. Personal Trainer and AFAA Cert. Group Ex. Instructor. Carmine then told Jim White a studio owner in Virginia Beach of my accomplishments and a week later I was hired as a professional my junior year of school. With persons from my classes seniors interning at my time of hire it felt great to be getting paid for what they did as an intern. Still working almost full time I finished my degree in Exercise Science and have been working ever since. At Jim White Fitness I have done a good variety of things as well as taken my fitness experience to a whole other level. In October 2011 I completed the Marine Corps Marathon with a time of 3:37. Soon after I competed and won an amateur body building contest hosted by the National Physique Association. I am constantly challenging myself with new ideas and things even I have never seen and upping my level of competition with myself. This shows in my training with clients of all ages, goals, and backgrounds. Currently I am studying for my Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach and will be taking the exam for that in April of this year.
