Samantha Coates

For the past four and a half years, I have been in Old Dominion University's English Education program.  My degree will allow me to teach secondary English classes, which is something I am no longer interested in. My second life is the one I love and for which I have a passion. Even though I was scared senseless when I taught my very first step class, I have never been more thankful for any other opportunity in my life.  I'm in my fourth year of teaching group fitness, and now that I am about to gradute college, I want to take my experience on the road. I am from a very small town in Virginia, where I grew up on a farm. I've only done a little traveling, to Venice Beach, California, and a cruise that ported in the Bahamas, Jamaica, and Cozumel. I adored all of these beautiful destinations, and I hope to see all of them again. My parents live on opposite ends of the country, and at this point in my life, I just want to take advantage of my skills and love for travel. I adjust easily to new environments, and I love meeting new people. I've never met a class I couldn't teach or didn't benefit from, and I know that experiencing other cultures will only add to my passion for fitness and people.
