Michelle Traynor
Growing up, I have always been involved in athletics. I trained and competed in gymnastics from age 3--18 before my fitness career took off. Once in college, I became an avid runner, running half marathons as often as I could. I began weight training in 2011 and immediately was addicted. I researched everything I could and read books, articles, studies, etc. to add to the wealth of fitness/health information I already had over the years. I felt that if I had this much knowledge and passion for health/fitness, that I should share it with people who were just starting. I got my certifications and began to teach classes at Central Connecticut State Univeristy. By the end of my first semester teaching I had to have people reserve spots in class ahead of time because they were packed. Bootcamp was a student/ faculty favorite. I constantly changed my class routines to keep it exciting and challenging. I quickly grew a regular crowd who said they kept returning because they enjoyed the way I taught; keeping it challening for some while modifying and making variations for others. On my own time, I had begun training for fitness competitions. In July 2012 I competed in Fitness Universe as a fitness model and received 2nd place. I will be competing again this year for NPC and WBFF professional organizations. I continue to provide personal training through my home gym to those who contact me through present and past clients of mine or by word of mouth. I am no longer a personal trainer for PT Solutions due to time constraints with the full time RN position I took recently. However, I still keep in contact with my clients from the fitness center and continue to help them with their fitness goals!
