Rachel Routly

Rachel is a graduate of Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching Clinic and is an active member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. Clinically, Rachel has treated high risk pregnancies at Women's College Hospital, chemotherapy and radiation patients at Princess Margaret lodge, and spinal cord injuries at Lyndhurst Rehabilitation Centre.

Rachel specializes in prenatal massage and has experience in treating all stages of pregnancy including preconception, prenatal and post natal. She has found passion for women's health through her practice and likes to work with an ongoing treatment plan to give them the support and balance they need. She regularly treats patients of all ages ranging from infants, children and teens to the elderly. Her practice also involves a wide range of stress-induced injuries and syndromes, where she designs a comprehensive, safe, and effective treatment plan tailored to each individual's particular needs. Conditions she has treated include hyperlordosis and kyphosis (exaggerated curvatures of the spine) and postural imbalances, tension headaches, repetitive strain injuries, and general aches and pains from work or athletics.  Among her swedish massage techniques, her highly effective deep tissue myofascial treatments relax tense muscles by releasing tension in the connective tissue that surrounds muscles.

Rachel practices yoga on regular a basis and firmly believes in the therapeutic benefits. Mixing both her anatomy knowledge and yogic philosophies helps her find her mental and physical balance.  Rachel likes to incorporate asanas (postures) and breathing techniques in treatment and self-care.

Whether your reason for massage is relaxation or injury-based, you will leave the clinic feeling refreshed and re-energized.
