Always grew up knowing that I wanted to help people. I would always play school with my friends and I was always the teacher. Decided music was one of my talents so I went on to Music Education. Received my bachelors degree in Music Education in 2007. In 2001 I signed up for the military to help pay for my education. I enlisted in the Army National Guard for South Dakota (home roots). I have always struggled with my weight and joining the military changed that quick. I never enjoyed the military but I do now. I have turned into a leader and the fitness guru for our unit. I am still in the military, I actually plan on doing 20 years.
In 2003 I was deployed with my unit to Iraq. We were there for a long 18 months. I learned alot while I was there and let me tell you, it was a complete life changing event. We are very lucky to live where we live and we should never take anything for granted.
While I couldn't find a job in music education, I started working at Curves for women. I found myself doing extra things to help the ladies. We would do the circuit together and then afterwards get in a group to focus more on the trouble areas. Everyone always asked where I came up with all the exercises and honestly I didn't have an answer for them. After working at Curves for a year I was offered a job at a new club that was going to be opening in Fargo ND. It was going to be a National Franchise called elements. I jumped on that position because I grew for a passion in fitness. I knew I could blossom with elements. I taught Spin, Bootcamp and Circuit. Then I got lured into getting certified in Group Power through BTS (body training system). After that came Gravity (GTS). My boss saw so much passion in me and she was right! Attending Zumba class everyday the instructor convinced me to get certified. I then took over all the Zumba classes. To progress with my continuing education I took a Zumba Sentao certification. I am the only one in Fargo actually teaching the class right now. The members love it! In between all those certification my boss also pulled my arm and I am now AFAA certified in Personal Training. So with all of that said, I forgot to mention how in between I do all the membership things at elements that come with a health club and also am in charge of the front desk. It's a lovely fulltime job.:)
Loving my job, and realizing it isn't music education, I have come to the fact of knowing I am still helping people and changing lives and absolutely loving my job!
Knowing how cold it is in FARGO NORTH DAKOTA, it would be amazing to continue my passion while taking a fabulous vacation!
