Marissa Acker

Marissa graduated from Christopher Newport University, in Newport News Virginia. She majored in Communication Studies and minored in Spanish. However, her love for fitness started at an early age. She was a competitive gymnast for 10 years and danced competitively throughout high school and college. She was the lead dance team captain and choreographer at Christopher Newport University for three years. She continued her love for fitness and dance when she moved to Charlotte in 2011, to pursue a career as a professional NFL Cheerleader. She has taught ballet barre and jazz cardio fitness classes for several years at Christopher Newport University and at other studios locally in Virginia and North Carolina. She is also an avid spinner and certified to teach Spin, through Mad Dogg Athletics. She focused her fitness studies on circuit training, resistance training, and ballet barre fitness through the American Council on Exercise (ACE). Marissa is a certified personal trainer through ACE.
