Suzie is a certified Zumba instructor.  She is very enthusiastic and believes that the key to a good workout is having fun while maintaining proper form.  She has been an avid taker of fitness classes from the 1980s and was actively involved as an AFAA instructor during college teaching a variety of step and high/low classes.  She is very flexible about incorporating different moves into her routines, which include a combination of dance moves that can be broken into more advanced and also, less advanced moves.  The key to her classes is making sure that people are always smiling, getting a good workout and ensuring that they maintain appropriate form while performing the moves, so that they can continue to take classes for a long period of time. She is always willing to take time after class to get input from her students on how classes can be improved.  As an example, for her cool downs, the people in class wanted less of a dance type of class and more of a limbering slower cool down.   Accordingly, she revised her moves to ensure that people could relax into a cool down that focused more on stretching and slower moves.  

Suzie loves to get feedback and loves to be around people.  She is somebody who is always smiling and looking for ways to continue to give a good workout to people while ensuring that the moves are safe and that anybody, including those that are new to fitness can join in.   Her key to success is getting to know the people in the class and encourage them as they continue to exercise and focus on what they can continue to do better to get a workout.  If that takes modifying a move such as a salsa move, so that it is more like a step touch, then, she works with people and gives them dance moves with their arms that allows them to get into the exercise through a full range of motion while still maintaining the beat and having fun.  She is somebody who is always encouraging people to continue and take their workout to the next level.  This is based on her experience as a former AFAA instructor, who is currently getting re certified and being an avid group exercise participant, who continues to make friends in all the classes that she attends.
