Sandie Rieck

 

Sandie began her yoga practice about 6 years ago.  At the time, she was an avid runner and was hesitant to try something that she thought was “all about stretching.” Sandie very quickly discovered that yoga was much more than stretching because it challenged her physically, mentally and spiritually. While getting her Master's degree in marriage and family therapy, Sandie continued to deepen her personal practice of yoga, and she found that yoga became critical in helping her manage her own stress. Having worked with many children and families in crisis, Sandie became all too familiar with the impact stress has on our nervous systems, brain functioning, overall health and well-being. Out of a desire to deepen her own practice and have additional tools to help others manage stress, Sandie became 200-hour certified and is a RYT with the Yoga Alliance. Sandie has been blessed with some wonderful teachers, who have supported her in learning about proper alignment and sequencing. While technique is always important in Sandie's classes, she always likes to remind her students that yoga should be fun and feel good!

Sandie is a professional, experienced yoga instructor based in Tempe, AZ.  She teaches a variety of yoga classes designed to keep students physically challenged while developing good technique through proper alignment.  Classes are fueled by Sandie's passion for play, as she holds a strong belief that yoga should be fun and feel good! 

Sandie's professional background as a licensed family therapist has heightened her intuitive abilities and given her a great deal of knowledge about stress and its negative effects on the nervous system.  Themes of stress management and breath control are also weaved throughout the dialogue in Sandie's classes.
