- Erin O'Brien
Erin O’Brien has been studying yoga and meditation since 2000, and that journey has included various styles of yoga as well as the joyous experience and gift of practicing under several different yoga instructors. Her practice began locally at The Yoga Place with Chris Saudek, as well as at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with Tammy Zee. It was also at UWL where she began her study of Philosophy and was introduced to the art of meditation. She has studied yoga with many nationally acclaimed instructors including Seane Corn, Rama Berch, Beryl Bender Birch, Simon Park, Desiree Rumbaugh, Jason Crandall and Matthew Sanford. She has continued to study under Matthew Sanford and has been certified in levels I & II of his pioneering program Adapting Yoga for Disabilities. She continues to work and study under the teachings of Scott Anderson and Andrea Russell of Alignment Yoga. She has received her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate through Alignment Yoga and will complete her 500 hour Yoga Therapy Certificate through them as well in October 2012. In Septemebr 2012 she also became a certified Aerial Yoga instructor through Unnata Aerial Yoga. She has also completed the Spectrum Yoga Therapy Training program developed by Scott Anderson specifically for those who are on the Autism Spectrum. As an instructor, Erin’s passion is bringing Yoga to those whom may not have the greatest access to it or believe that the practice is simply not accessible to them. While Yoga has taken on the image that it is only for the fit, the flexible and the financially fortunate in our Western culture, it’s the true essence of Yoga, which far surpasses just the physical asana practice, that we find the greatest access to transformation. Erin’s teaching hopes to both inspire and empower each student to realize the teacher within themselves, as each students path is uniquely theirs to uncover.
