Fitness has been apart of my life since I can remember, having been a four-sport athlete in school and continuing on through college. As a softball player in college I realized remaining in shape all year long was much better than having to keep getting into shape just for the season and that’s when I decided to train not only myself but my teammates as well. Since college I continued to instruct at different gyms learning from workshops and great instructors along the way. Coming from the great state of Iowa we have an amazing bicycle ride across the state called RAGBRAI and that’s how I got addicted to spinning, since our weather limits us from riding outside many months out of the year. I remember people who had never done spinning always said it was probably boring but that’s what makes my job more fun, getting my students to have a blast even when they are in one location. About three years ago I tried my first yoga class and I was hooked immediately. I love the complete mental and physical workout and that’s why I decided to get my 200 hr. RYT (which I finished in April of 2013). There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a student come into yoga and leave a renewed, refreshed being. I try to theme every one of my yoga classes with helpful tips and ways of coping through life’s challenges and the response is great. I truly believe having passion in your work brings pleasure all around and I am so happy I get to experience that everyday.
