Sharon Lynn Holmes

 

Sharon Lynn Holmes has been line dancing since 1999 when she was selected by Stepping Out Productions, Inc, located in Baltimore, MD to join their dance organization. Sharon was an instructor, competition and showcase performer with this organization. In 2000, Sharon founded Lyn Dancn Club (LDC), a social line dance organization located in Mitchellville, MD. Professionally, Sharon holds a Masters of Science degree from the University of Maryland in human resources management and is a consultant in this field.

Sharon is the President of LDC and has fifteen members in the social line dance organization. She has been teaching weekly classes to members of the general public continuously since 1999. Her classes are at the beginner, intermediate and advance levels of instruction. She knows the steps for more than 300 different line dances that are included in the curriculum that she administers. Sharon has been awarded six line dance performance medals for choreography and dance instruction. Sharon's most popular line dance, Chuck Baby, was preformed by the Martin Luther King High School Marching Band from Detroit, MI in the 2008 Olympic Games held in Beijing, China. The Chuck Baby line dance is still be taught by instructors across the United States today. Sharon has also received three individual recogniton awards for line dance excellence and is the receipient of the 1st Annual Lifetime Achievement Award for Contriutions to Line Dancing from the Union Crew (UC) Organization in Baltimore, MD. UC holds an annual awards ceremony every January for line dancers from across the United States. Awards are voted on by the industry of urban line dancers in teh United States.

Sharon hosted the Holly Morris Morning Show at the FOX WTTG Channel 5 station  - Washington, DC in 2008 along with Holly. She taught line dancing to Holly and the audience in attendance at the show. Sharon has received copyright certification from the U.S. Library of Congress for the eight (8) line dances she created from 2000 - 2008. Sharon created the winning competition routines for LDC who placed 1st, and 2nd twice, at the Tri State Syled Extravaganza in 2005, 2006 and 2009. She has created special line dancer showcase routines that have been presented before audiences in Cleveland, OH (1400 dancers), Miami, FL (300) dancers, Baltimore, MD (300+ dancers), Washington, DC (500 dancers),  and continues to perform at private and community events.

Sharon teachs members of the public in the adult age range of 18 - seniors. She has uinque experience in instructing this popultion of people who come to learn and dance for fun and wellness.
