I am a retired math teacher, and have been enjoying yoga for around ten years, then decided I could become an instructor. I did this in the year 2011. My two children are grown and out of the home, so now it is time for me to travel and I love teaching yoga for the wonderful health benefits, strength and flexibility that comes from a regular practice. My format in my yoga classes is a more esoteric, Hatha style with emphasis on proper body and spinal alignment for safety. I choreograph a class to include warm-up, a more intense middle section and of course, end with deep stretching and relaxation. I also like to include, if the students are comfortable with it, breathing exercises, long holding of some of the poses and meditation. I am very sensitive to my students' needs and desires and always make sure they understand about going at their own pace, listening to their bodies and indicating to me any injuries or weaknesses they may have at that time.
