Yoga has truly transformed my life. I began my journey with yoga when I was 18 years old. I moved to Edmonton and found myself often bored and restless, uncertain of my purpose on this earth. One afternoon I decided to take a yoga class and from that day forward my life has transformed in many positive ways. I began going to classes every day. I couldn’t get enough. I started calling my friends and family members encouraging them to tag along so they could experience how wonderful yoga is. After about a year of attending yoga on a daily basis my friends suggested that I become a yoga teacher. They constantly mentioned how I lit up from the inside out every time I spoke of yoga. That’s when I decided that I would attend a yoga teacher training course. I was destined to help others discover the wonders of yoga. I attended a 200 hour Hatha yoga program at the “from within wellness center” in Edmonton, Alberta. I graduated in August of 2009. My guru Priya Dasyam taught me everything she knows and I am forever grateful to her. For the past year I have been subbing classes at the “from within wellness center” and teaching privately to family and friends.
Yoga has changed my life in the following ways; I have learned a great amount of self-discipline, I have learned to quiet the mind and to become mindful, my body is in the best physical condition of my life. I feel better, I look better and I finally feel a sense of contentment. My goal as a yoga teacher is to help as many people as I possibly can to learn the philosophy and practice of yoga and how to apply it in their everyday life. I specialize in Hatha Yoga. I also really enjoy teaching partner yoga. My duty as a yoga teacher is to continue my education and never let ego get in the way. I myself may be a teacher but I will always be a student. Yoga has taught me to love myself for who I am and to share that knowledge with all of my students. Everyone is perfect the way they are inside and out.
My future endeavors consist of spending 6 months in India at the Bihar school of yoga so I can continue my education as a yoga teacher and student. My long term goal is to open my own yoga studio and teach full time.
Yoga is my passion. My one true love.
Namaste,
Cassie LeBlanc
