In the last couple of years, I have grown as a fitness specialist by leaps and bounds. It started as a physical therapist technician in Auburn, Alabama where I was introduced to high-risk populations of surgeries, elderly, and frail. This gave me the foundation to pursue a certification of ACSM Health Fitness Specialist after my Master’s program was completed. During my graduate degree, I took equal parts of exercise physiology and biomechanics classes to become versatile in the fitness field. Since being in Atlanta, I have been training in various locations around Atlanta working with a diverse population from the detrained/normal population, post-rehab, young athletics, and corporate wellness. Having a heart of teacher, I have also taught at the collegiate level at Clayton State University. At CSU, I have taught 3000-level classes, and preparing for the Capstone course for the Health and Fitness Management program, where practical application of being a health fitness specialist/physical educator is the basis of the coursework. I believe the variety has made me a well-rounded, experienced exercise physiologist/professor that will be a benefit to any company.
