My personal philosophy is a commitment to the work of body conditioning and exercise rehabilitation and to honoring each client's personal process. Whether you are conditioning your body or using exercise to heal from injuries, your process is as unique as you are. I teach with respect to each person's needs and work with integrity to help you achieve your goals.
I don’t believe in any one way to do anything. I use the concepts of the work, proper technique, and skillful observation to guide me in instructing you. I am open to innovation, creativity, change and inspiration. My exercise programs are working designs built from a dialogue between what I know works and my client's mind/body processes. Working this way helps me to teach with passion and ease.
I have a high level of understanding of what I teach. If I don’t, I am committed to getting there. I believe in the process of learning and improving my own skills.
I keep the studio environment friendly and full of music and laughter. I encourage personal growth and balanced living in myself and others, moving forward through energy or life, developing better ways to do things through sharing of ideas, and constantly challenging what I think I know.
My work in the field of Pilates, Dance/Conditioning, Teacher Education, Gyrotonic, and Gyrokinesis Yoga, as well as blending and fusing other forms of fitness to create Aline Barre Technique and Ballet Fitness is well known by OC Locals since 1990.
My career began in the 80's as a dance teacher at the age of 16 and by the age of 17 I was dancing professionally. I continued with my degree in dance and was artistic director of an award winning company. I discovered Pilates by accident in the late 80’s. I was one of the first three Studios to open in the OC, with Gyrotonic, and teacher training/education programs to soon follow.
I introduced Pilates Mat Work to Orange County Gyms, and started Pilates Programs for TRAC Physical Therapy, Yoga Place Costa Mesa and Laguna Beach (now Yoga Works), Lakeshore Towers, Athletic Club for Women, and Girls Gym Newport Beach, the Girls Gym Laguna Canyon, Revolution Studio in Los Angeles, expanded the Gyrotonic Program for the Vintage in Indian Wells. You gotta remember, back then it was illegal to say you taught Pilates so it was really courages to be out there in the community.
My work with Pro Surfers in 1998-99 led me to Quiksilver. I was able to develop a training program for the Pro/Am Men’s Teams and then Quiksilver invited me again to introduce my training to the Women’s Roxy Team in 2005. With Aline's unique style this opened the Women's Pro Team to a different type of conditioning.
Aline's certification program is widely respected as producing some of the most coveted instructors in the field. Training teachers in smaller groups, spending more time on their personal development, and giving them the specific tools they need to set themselves apart in this highly competitive field are the goals of my program.
