Kimberly Terpening

Colonel Kimberly L. Terpening is the Chief of Aeromedical Evacuation Plans, Operations and Nursing Services and the Command Nurse, Air National Guard, Joint Base Andrews, MD.  She is responsible for strategic planning, policy development, communication and coordinating platforms for the Air National Guard Surgeon General Nursing Division and Aeromedical Evacuation affecting more than 6700 medical personnel in 89 Medical Groups and 10 Aeromedical Evacuation Squadrons throughout the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands.

 In 1999, she was the Flight Nurse and a Crew Member on the South Pole Rescue Mission of Dr. Jerri Nielson, the National Science Foundation physician who was treating herself for Breast Cancer at the South Pole.  She has more than 30 years as a Registered Nurse and almost 28 years in the military.

Kim and her family are fitness enthusiasts.  She and her family enjoy traveling.
