I have been in the fitness industry since 2002 when I began working for EFI Sports Medicine in San Diego, the company responsible for the development of the Total Gym. They encouraged me to become certified as a personal trainer to better understand the industry. Currently my personal training certification is with AFAA. I have been in the fitness ever since working with private clients.
In 2011 the owner of a local fitness studio approached me to teach group fitness classes. I decided to start out by teaching Zumba and Zumba toning and fell in love with the group fitness format. After becoming licensed to teach Zumba I quickly added a certification to teach both Corebar and Corebar HIT. The innovators of the Corebar then asked me to become a Master Trainer for their program and train other instructors. After a few months working with them I began to pursue opening my own studio and resigned from that position. In February of this year I added an AFAA Kickboxing certification to my resume so that I could begin teaching Cardio Kickboxing. Currently I teach between 7 and 8 classes a week at Z Club Fitness in Monterey, CA that include Zumba, Corebar HIT, and Cardio Kickboxing.
