Zulay Torres

Zulay Torres, OTR/L, SIPT has worked as a Licensed Occupational Therapist in a variety of settings including Rehabilitative services, Early Intervention, Clinical practice and School based facilities since 1993. She has continuously provided direct treatment, supervised, mentor and provided consultative in the Washington D.C. metro area. She has extensive training in Sensory Integration, Massage, Vision, Auditory and alternative therapy approaches including Yoga for Children and most recently became a Pilates Instructor. Ms. Torres’s career has unfolded to focus on the relationships between the integration of the senses and body mechanics to successfully tap into your own “unique” self.  She completed the Administration and interpretation of the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT) in Oakland, California and Participated as an examiner on the Standardization sample for the Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency (Second Edition).

Ms. Torres extensive experience include lecturing various parent groups and professionals on topics related to Sensory Integration, Handwriting and Infant massage, among others, and has provided in-services in a variety of private Educational settings. She currently divides her time supervising therapist working in the school system, integrating Pilates and Yoga into services delivered in schools and being a Pilates Instructors for adults.

She is an avid fitness enthusiast who enjoys moving and sharing her passion for the mind, brain and body connection, which shows during her dynamic classes. Zulay's experience and personal struggles with health have further influence her interest to continue to grow into the health and fitness profession, in a more personal journey that she is always eager to share!
