My name is Stacy and I have always enjoyed the water. I made the decision at 16 to get certified in Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid and AED. High school through College I worked at various pools in my community as a lifeguard and water safety instructor (Swim lessons). After college I started working a traditional 9-5 job where I sit behind a computer all day. To keep involved at the pool I swam laps and took aqua aerobics in the evenings and weekends; but I wanted something more. In the spring of 2012 I signed up for an Aqua Aerobics Certification Course (through WaterArt). Immediately I felt like I was where I needed to be. I have customized great routines to accommodate all levels of participants and give everyone a great workout. In aqua aerobics the participants are very diverse (from participants wanting a high intensity calorie burning class to participants that are looking for a low impact, injury/surgery recovery type of class). Currently I teach 5 classes a month at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station Aquatics Facility, and in the summer I will be teaching a total of 13 classes a month when I start teaching at the Naval District Washington Solomons Recreation Aquatics Facility. I really enjoy teaching and I am always looking for opportunities where I can work with people on their road to healthy living.
