The first time I got on a Spinning bike was not pretty. I was young and set up my bike up completely wrong, resulting in fracturing my tailbone from coming down too hard on the set from jumps. I was scared away from those bikes for awhile. It wasn't until four years ago that I gave it a shot again; I am glad I did because I fell in love. Spinning was more than a workout to me, but a way to think and release stress. I was taking classes seven times a week and wanted to do more. I next step I took was to get certified. The summer of 2012 I was trained by Jill Nola (the Group Exercise Director of the Colvin Buffalo Athletic Club). She trained me little at a time and would not let me teach a full class until she felt that i was well trained. She spent hours to help me understand set up, different drills, safety, and more about Spinning. Spinning changed my life, from taking me who was completely shy with people, to teaching multiple Spin classes a week with 30 people in each class. I broke out of my shell and I try to bring that drive to each of my classes. I want to inspire every rider in my classes, to make them feel good about themselves after they take my classes. November, I also took the Indoor Cycling certification by AFAA.
January 2013 I was certified in Kettlebell training. I always had used Kettlebells growing up as an athlete for training, so being able to be certified in this area was something that I had enjoyed. Currently I am working with Ellen Coleman (Regional Group Exercise Director of the Buffalo Athletic Club) to create the first ever Kettlebell Personal Training Class for these clubs in the Buffalo NY area. April 2013 I have taught two free demo classes at two different Buffalo Athletic Club locations and had received lots of positive feedback about the class. I am working to have this class ready to teach by the end of May 2013 at the Buffalo Athletic Club.
