My name is Jessica Adams and I am based out of Tampa, FL. My backround is rather unique as I am a fourth generation Circus Performer. Since childhood, physical fitness and traveling have been a huge part of my life. I attended the University of South Florida and started my professional life as a business owner of multiple Café’s. During that time, I realized that I was missing the physical fitness portion of my life and decided to go back to my roots. I first started by competing as a NPC Figure competitor in 2006 and then in 2007 as a NASM certified Personal Trainer for Lifestyle Family Fitness (LFF) Centers in Florida.
While employed by LFF, I specialized in one-on-one training, group training, children’s fitness and sports specific training. During my time at LFF, I became a Group Fitness Instructor of Les Mills BodyFlow (Certified in 2008), Cycling, Yoga, Pilates, Boot Camp and circuit and sculpt classes. I realized very quickly that my experience with personal training and my knowledge of the body was an asset to the group fitness participants. Paired with my creativity, I am able to construct and fun, effective and safe workout for all members.
In 2009, I became the Personal Training Manager of my club and worked with a great team of trainers. It was my duty to help with the fitness development of the PT team, continuing education, meeting sales plans for the club and educating members about the benefits of physical fitness. One thing that I was most proud of during that time was being able to bridge the gap between the PT department and Group Fitness. I was able to create a mutual respect and bring to light the assets of working together, not only for our members, but for us as Trainers and Instructors as well.
In 2010, I shifted my specialty to group training classes including Core Conditioning, Boot Camp, small group PT and Children’s fitness classes. I would use a wide range of modalities while teaching these classes including Kettle Bells, Medicine Balls, BOSU’s, Stability Balls, Speed Ladders, jump rope, Dumbbells, pin-selected equipment, steps, Reebok Slide and TRX Suspension training.
In 2012, I left the PT department to teach Group Fitness exclusively. I received my second AFAA Group Fitness Certification in December 2012. That same year, LFF was acquired by LA Fitness where I am currently employed as a Group Fitness Instructor teaching Yoga, Pilates, Cycle, Boot Camp Conditioning, Boxing Circuit and BodyWorks plus Abs.
The FitBodies program was recommend to me by my colleague Julie Tipton who was raving about your program. I am looking forward to the opportunity of working with this program because it fits into my lifestyle of travel, developing new relationships and coaching others about the benefits of fitness and the fun they can have while doing it.
