Teresa Romasco

Everyone is familiar with the quote “There is a silver lining behind every cloud”. Well, the silver lining behind my cloud was my introduction to yoga in 2007 after an accident that left me with limited flexibility. I was the dutiful patient attending physical therapy, walking, etc. but decided that I needed something more. It was at that time that I found myself at a local studio and it was love at first Adho Mukha Svanasana!

In the five years following my introduction to yoga, I realized that the Yogic saying "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear" held a key universal truth about learning. I was on more than just a path to yoga to help my physical body; I was on a spiritual path and inner journey. In 2012 I decided that I wanted to deepened my understanding as well as my practice of yoga and once again the universe “lead” me to Lifted Heart Yoga where I completed my 200 hour RYT training.

Like myself, I understand that some people may begin their yoga journey in response to an encountered hardship and loss or are experiencing a sense of dissatisfaction with their life. Out of this comes the need to find greater meaning in life and searching for what really matters. In our day-to-day lives it is frequently difficult to avoid being consumed by negative emotions either coming from the external world or those that we create within our own minds. As a yoga teacher I strive to support my students in finding that inner calmness which allows them to become their best selves. I aspire to do this by informing, challenging, and setting an example for my students and supporting them to learn and observe in their own practice.
