Amanda Mullens, Licensed Zumba® Instructor

Amanda Mullens, or commonly known by her students at “Lamanda the Latin Diva,” is a licensed Zumba Instructor living and working in the Annapolis, MD area.  Amanda has always harbored a love for dance and fitness; in addition to being actively involved with swim teams, water polo, Crew, and field hockey, Amanda enjoyed ballet, tap, and modern dance classes growing up.  However, it was not until 2008, when she was introduced to Zumba at her local Gold’s Gym that her passion for dance and fitness truly came together.  After taking regular Zumba classes at her local gyms, in 2012 Amanda decided to take her passion to the next level and become a licensed Zumba Instructor. 

Since being inducted into the Zumba Instructor Network (ZIN), Amanda has had the pleasure of teaching classes at 24 Hour Fitness in Annapolis, MD; LA Fitness in Gambrills and Pasadena, MD; Gold’s Gym in both Crofton and Bowie, MD;  Edgewater Fitness in Edgewater, MD; Premier Fitness in Annapolis, MD; Savage Fit Studio in Savage, MD; and Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold, MD.   Amanda will also be joining the staff of Fitness First in Columbia, MD in June 2013.  She has been an active teaching participant at various local Zumbathons (i.e. Artists for Amy at Edgewater Fitness; American Diabetes Association at Gold’s Gym Bowie; and IMA World Health at Anne Arundel Community College.  In a typical “Lamanda” Zumba class, students will find themselves dancing to a variety of party music which includes, but is not limited to hip-hop, top 40 songs, latin pop, Michael Jackson, Reggaeton, Salsa, Cumbia, Merengue, Soca, Bellydancing, Bollywood/Bhangra, Bachatra and more!

In addition to Zumba, Amanda is also licensed in Zumba Toning, Zumba Sentao, and Aqua Zumba; she is currently certified in CPR/AED, and holds an AFAA Group Fitness Instructor certification.  When she is not teaching Zumba, Amanda is a Managing Consultant for IBM Global Business Services in the Baltimore-Washington D.C.
