Lyn Dancn Club (LDC), Inc was founded in 2000 by Sharon Lynn Holmes, President. LDC is an urban line dance organization that focuses on spreading line dancing as a health & wellness program for the general public in the State of Maryland. LDC has 18 permanent and one honorary member that participate in the club and teach students and groups, perform line dance showcase performances and gives volunteer services to community groups in the Washington metropolitan area of Northern Virginia, the District of Columbia and Prince Georges County.
Sharon started her career in amateur line dancing in 1999 in Baltimore, MD as a member of Stepping Out Productions where she competed and taught line dance classes to groups and organizations and the general public. In 2000, Sharon created her first line dance called Mitchellville which was performed in the eastern part of the county for several years. In 2010 Sharon was awarded a certification with the International Consortium of Line Dance Instructors (ICDLI) . ICDLI is a dance training organization that trains dance instructors on the art of dance theory and music and awards certification upon successful completion of the mandated course of professional instruction.
