Julie Winzenried

Professionally my background is in communications.  Fresh out of college, after graduating from Baruch College in NYC with a BA in history, I started working at Google.  It was there that I grew in my career, loving every minute of it.  After living in NYC for ten years, my husband and I moved back to our hometown, Madison, WI, where we took over my parents' bakery (Stella's Bakery, of Hot and Spicy Cheese Bread fame, for those of you who might know it), and got busy having 3 kids in 3 years.  I was still working at Google, remotely at this point, and, needless to say, I was very busy, and I started to feel the repercussions of too much stress and work deep within my muscles and joints.

I fell in love with yoga after the birth of my youngest child.  I have benefited from a regular yoga practice since: I have less pain and achiness, increased energy and motivation, and have become strong and flexible.  My yoga practice helps me to feel good and teaches me how to grow stronger and happier.  I finally left Google, after 11 years, to focus on my kids, and now I also finally have more time to devote to yoga.  Shortly after retiring from my communications career, I decided to get yoga certified; I want to come alongside others in their yoga practice, and I welcome every opportunity to help others in their personal yoga practice, whether they be brand-new or already well along their way!  I learn along the way, too, and am always encouraged by others along the way.
