Laura Vanderberg

Laura is a longtime athlete (competitive swimmer, long distance runner, cyclist and triathlete) who has realigned herself and her life through yoga.  Still a fitness enthusiast who has volunteer coached the local high school swim team and helped friends train for their first triathlon, Laura's study of yoga has led her to teaching and further to training as a yoga therapist.  She completed her 200 hour teacher certification with Anne Richardson Stevens in 2006, her 500 hour certification with JJ Gormley in 2012, and is completing her 1000 hour Yoga Therapist certification with JJ currently.  She recently received her ERYT500 from Yoga  Alliance.  Following her training in 2006, Laura took a 2 month sabbatical and traveled around the Western US to see where life was to take her next.  Cody, WY found her and six months later, she moved to Cody and opened Here. Yoga for the Well-Spirit yoga studio.  Laura's organizational skills and her formal education (she has a PHD in microbiology and has over 20 years professional experience) helped her successfully grow the studio.  She developed the curriculum for Heart Mountain Yoga School, obtained Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School certification and has taught 200 hour training programs and continuing education in Cody and Virginia Beach, VA.  She recently relocated to Santa Fe, NM where she teaches group classes, volunteer teaches at the Santa Fe County Youth Detection Center, and works privately with several clients.  She is an adventurer who loves to travel and explore.  She has led, and continues to lead, yoga vacations in the US and internationally.  These vacations blend the best of culture, cuisine and environment in amazing locales along with expert yoga instruction.  To quote a recent vacation participant, "You just have to go on a Laura vacation!".  Laura loves to share yoga with everyone and firmly believes that yoga is for every body, everywhere!
