My experience spans from both the military and mainstream one-on-one training.  I served in the United States Marine Corps for four years and  also served as a drill sergeant in US Army Reserves for five years. During my time as a drill sergeant, I  helped build the physical strength and cardiorespiratory endurance of United States soldiers.

I have been a licensed personal trainer under the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) for 3 yrs and recently received my Fitness Nutrition Specialist Certification, also through NASM.  My exercise program design is fashioned after NASM’s Optimum Performance Training Model (OPT).  This model allows me to design an effective, individual specific, exercise program.  It is phase appropriate and thus progresses individuals according to their performance within each phase.

My group exercise class style/format is motivational and instructional. Class participants are encouraged to get the most out of their workout by learning correct form and technique. They remain consistently challenged and well informed.

I have been a Zumba instructor for two years. The concept of international rhythms comes easy to me because of my heritage. My parents are from South America and while growing up as child in New York City, being the melting pot that it is, I was encouraged to learn many styles dance. At the age of 9 or 10, I started ballet lessons that went on for five years. Simply put, I love to dance! It has always been a passion of mine and I welcome others to join me in expressing that passion.
