Soon after graduating college, I found myself immersed in the “daily grind”. I would rush out of my high-pressure advertising job to make the 7:30pm yoga class at my local yoga studio a few times a week. It was the oasis in my day. I fell in love with the practice as it allowed me to find peace in the chaos. I found myself taking an extra breath before reacting to my boss or client. My teacher, guru, friend, motivated me to enroll in a yoga teacher training course. I did. It changed my life. Towards the end of the year course, I felt open, empowered and clear. I left my advertising job to pursue the world of health, wellness and fitness and have never looked back to the unhealthy lifestyle I once lived.
Life is all about experiencing, while being open to all possibilities. At 25 years old, I hit a “quarter life crisis”. I tremendously enjoyed my passion for teaching yoga but I found myself going through the same routine, which involved driving from class to class, usually stuck in traffic, and going through the motions with resistance and not grace. I knew a change was needed and this awareness pulled me to New York City. I sold my car to one of my yoga students and decided to live a minimalistic lifestyle in an environment that was heavily flooded with material things. I came here because the city truly brings out an energy in me that I have never encountered. I am never bored but rather inspired on a daily basis. I host a stand-up comedy show every other Thursday night at a local bar and do occasional voiceover work on the side while maintaining a private yoga client base as well as classes for New York Sports Clubs.
Possessing an exuberant teaching style, classes are Vinyasa inspired, focusing on alignment, assists and well thought out sequences. I blend strength as well as flexibility poses to each session. I allow my students to learn, live, play and grow in an open and non-judgmental space.
