With a focus on performance enhancement, Robert “Bo” May works with his clients to develop programs that allow them to execute in the gym in the same way they will on the playing field. And he does so always with an eye on injury prevention.

Bo was drawn to the field of personal training, following his own career-ending football injury, when he decided to pursue an internship at Athletes’ Performance in Phoenix. There he learned the Athletes’ Performance Methodology, a training system that  provides clients with specific, sustainable methodologies and strategies to help them attain their fitness and training goals.

Using his APM training, Bo has worked with college athletes in preparation for the 2010 NFL Scouting Combine and with professional baseball players prior to spring training, as well as with world-class triathletes and Olympic athletes. Bo also trains high school and college athletes who desire to increase their performance and prevent injury.

His experience also includes working under Todd Rice in North Carolina State University’s Football Strength and Conditioning program, and designing and implementing the training programs for North Carolina A&T State University’s baseball, softball, men’s basketball, and track and field programs, and assisting with the university’s football training program.

An athlete in his own right, Bo was a defensive end starter for Valdosta State University’s Division II 2007 National Championship Team, is a former professional indoor football player for the Columbus Lions and San Diego Stampede, and former assistant defensive coach for Valdosta State University.
