For years I sat on the couch and ate burgers, french fries, and ice cream while watching TV and hating any type of movement. Not surprisingly, my weight balloned to over 250 pounds and with the extra weight came diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesteral, depression, and anxiety - along with 9 different medications to treat all these conditions. One day, I woke up. looked in the mirror and realized what I had done to myself - and that without changes, I'd be in a wheelchair soon.
With a great deal of fright, but an equal amount of courage, I joined a local wellness center and began losing weight through diet and exercerse. No gimmicks, no surgery, no fads. Eat less, move more.
Two years, and 100 pounds later, I find that my eating habits have changed, but more importantly, I love exercise and love teaching exercise to anyone. no matter what body type or size. There is a modality that will work for everyone. As a teacher, it's up to me to find that match.
I earned by RYT-in 2014 and continue to add continuing education classes believing that everyone can enjoy yoga.
Currently I am also certified to teach indoor cycling and group exercise.
I approach every class I teach with a deep joy and desire to transfer that love to the people in the room. Good health is a gift.
