I have been a fitness enthusiast for 10 years.  After spending my late teens and early twenties as an overweight, unhealthy, and unhappy person, I decided it was time to make a change.  I began exercising, using at home workout videos.  It wasn't long until I started to learn how to clean up my diet.  I was amazed at how the weight fell off and how much healthier I was becoming.  I continued on this new, fitter path for several years until I decided it was time to share my experience with others.  I decided to get certified to teach Turbo Kick, a cardio kickboxing format.  I was not quite sure what I would do with this certification because I live on an island, only accessible by ferry or private plane, that did not (at the time) have a gym or fitness center.  However, I decided to utilize a buliding that is available for community events to start a Turbo Kick class for the community.  The class was immediately popular!  After teaching Turbo Kick for two years, I thought it was time to expand the class options.  I then got certified to teach Hip Hop Hustle, a cardio dance class.  Not long after that, I got certified to teach PiYo, a pilates/yoga fusion.  As these classes became more and more popular, we decided to move to the school gym so there would be enough space for everyone.  Of course, we were at the mercy of the school gym schedule so we sometimes had to cancel class due to scheduling conflicts.  I then started thinking about how nice it would be to have my own studio that was not subject to anyone else's schedule.  From this idea, Angie's Gym was born!  I am now the owner of a full service fitness center complete with cardio and strength areas, and of course, a large group exercise room.  It has been such an amazing journey going from someone who would not exercise at all to a fit person and fitness instructor bringing hope and guidance to so many who are where I was 10 years ago.  This is, hands down, the most rewarding thing I have ever been able to do and I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to share my love of fitness.
