  Cathy is trained and registered as a Professional Yoga Therapist through Integrative Yoga Therapy Institute. (500 hrs of Integrative Yoga Therapy.  200 hrs Kripalu/Hatha Method).   Winner - Best Yoga Instructor  - Natural Awakenings 2011   Cathy  offers private Yoga Therapy sessions and customizes Yoga practices to address specific conditions of her clients. Integrative Yoga Therapy is based on the psychology and philosophy of yoga that embraces all aspects of yoga, including breathing and meditation. It is an in-depth understanding of a health condition as well as the specific needs of an individual. Training is extremely student-centered with the teacher acting as a facilitator who guides the student toward awakening. The goal is for the student to find their true selves and sources of wellness. IYT helps each student develop harmoniously in their body, mind and spirit. Hatha Yoga. Cathy chose to study many other forms of yoga over the years, like Iyengar, Yin Yoga and Anusara, and many more. A lot of different Yoga Styles are rooted from Hatha Yoga. All these styles aim to balance the mind, the body, and the spirit through the Asanas or poses; however, the emphasis varies.  Cathy integrates many forms of Yoga in her classes and now has created the 'best of the best' mixture of each  style of Yoga.  This eclectic yoga concept is unique to Cathy. She believes that teaching  this style of yoga provides the best means for a student?s self-discovery. She is registered with: Yoga Alliance Kripalu Yoga Teacher Association International Association of Yoga Therapists At Alive with Yoga, Cathy offers Group Yoga classes that focus on gentle, therapeutic yoga that builds strength and flexibility (and reduces stress) in a warm, caring and friendly environment. Cathy states: ?I believe in a non-competitive and nurturing atmosphere where individual students are enabled to work at a level that is appropriate to their particular capabilities, even in a group environment. To this end, I advise participants in making adjustments in the poses to allow for their individual abilities at the time and facilitate their improvement. My goal, through Alive with Yoga, is to help people integrate mind, body and spirit to achieve greater health, vitality and power.?
