Christina Rairdan

 

I have been a certified personal trainer and fitness instructor since 1992. I have taught a variety of classes in Washington DC, Virginia, Washington State and California. I enjoy teaching Yoga, Mat Pilates, and Reformer Pilates the most. I am constantly pursuing additional training to enhance my expertise.

My yoga journey began with a simple New Year’s resolution back in 1998. After years of teaching fitness classes, I realized my body is a temple and it was time to treat it with respect and kindness. I quickly realized that through my yoga practice I found balance both physically and spiritually in my life. From this process of self-acceptance and spiritual growth grew a desire to share yoga with others, and I pursued my yoga certification.

With over 200 hours of intensive yoga training, I have been greatly inspired by Seane Corne, Baron Baptiste, Janet Stone, and Shiva Rea. When not instructing, I gladly embrace the role of a student realizing that there is always much to be learned from others. Although experienced in many styles of yoga, my passion is athletic based Vinyasa Flow. I enjoy bringing my fitness background into my yoga classes. I encourage students to establish the physical intention of each pose by connecting the breath with proper alignment.

Sharing Yoga with my students has been the most rewarding aspect in my over 20 years of instructing. Realizing that there are many reasons we practice yoga, I am passionate about embracing THEIR journey with each of my students. Yoga is part of who I am and the one New Year’s Resolution I am proud to say I have kept!
